Vankilter was the idea of, my self Andy J Hyndman.  I was born and brought up in a small Scottish town called Whitburn. I moved to Birmingham in 2002 and am now married to Jeanette Matthews a local lass. As Jeanette and I had set a wedding date, it was apparent that I was not going to get the right outfit that we wanted for the big day, not in Birmingham anyway!

“I struggled to find anyone in the Midlands that would supply me with a made to measure Kilt outfit for my wedding back in 2006.
I had to head up to Scotland to find a supplier that was capable of helping me with what I needed; after all it’s not just the bride that needs to look good on the big day!

After extensive research, I found that there was a gap in the market in Middle England, for anyone looking for Scottish, Irish, and Welsh formal wear.  So that’s how it all started!

Originally set up as a mobile service, Vankilter can now offer concerning clients the opportunity of a personal one to one experience, with the chance to have that sometimes beneficial professional point of view.  We are one of the only outlets that can offer not only a full hire range, but also a full made to measure bespoke service.

As the demand grew for this unique service, we needed to extend our range.  This then enabled us to become more competitive and offer fantastic outfits that are hard to beat.  Due to this growing demand, we are pleased to now offer a fantastic range of formal wear to go along with our Highland wear and made to measure Italian and English wool suits.

In the recent months we have had the privilege of helping lots of couples look good for their big day, every one unique!  We have also helped young men look good enough to win the title of PROM KING.  Most of all we have taken great pride in the fact that we have had the chance to help out some local celebrities with their wedding plans, and WOW did they look good!
